Happy Birthday, Tad's Toys!

Today is our one year anniversary! I can't believe it! What better way to celebrate than to look back at what we've been able to accomplish in our first year?

• We have donated toys to 11 rescues/shelters around the Houston area.
• Around 1500 pounds of toys have been delivered to animals sitting in cages/kennels waiting for someone to take them home.
• Each bag contains around 50 toys, as a guesstimate average, so together, we have donated around 800 toys to homeless animals over the past year.
• You could say that 800ish animals have been given a toy to play with and forget for a while that they are homeless. That's 800ish animals that have been loved by all of us...that is a LOT of love that was so easy and simple to give.

Y'all...that is...AWESOME. Together, we have accomplished something truly great...something that I hope continues to grow. Isn't it neat to know that animals that you've never met or even know existed are sitting in their kennels/cages playing with a toy you've purchased and donated to Tad's Toys...and while they're enjoying that little bit of love you shared, they are forgetting that they are homeless...THAT is why I do this. THAT is why you donate...THAT is love.

Pet Fest 2012

Pet Fest 2012

We spent the weekend out at Pet Fest 2012 in Old Town Spring. We hope many of you were able to stop by, meet us, and maybe even donate some toys (or spare change!). We had a blast and can't wait for next year! Oh, and we're sorry if Tad was barking at you! ; )

Over the course of 2 days, we were able to collect 5 trash bags of toy donations and a few cents shy of $245.00! Considering this is our 'grand opening,' and our first booth at Pet Fest, we are ecstatic!

Since October 23, 2011, the day our idea became reality, we've been able to donate toys to 11 rescues around the Houston area! We hope, with the amount of pet lovers who stopped by our booth, that we can grow bigger! We want to participate in more pet friendly festivals, like Pet Fest, and continue to spread the word about what we do and the healing power of toys! Thanks for your continued support and belief in us and what we do!
